Research

Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Research specializes in performing clinical trials in adults, adolescents and children for the indications of:

Allergic Rhinitis
Asthma
Chronic Urticaria
Atopic Dermatitis

 

We are currently conducting a variety of clinical research studies on several new and existing drugs for Asthma. If you’re interested in participating in our breakthrough research studies, please complete this form.

Participants must be:

  • 12 years of age and older
  • Previously diagnosed with asthma for at least 12 months
  • Currently using asthma medications

Qualified participants will receive:

  • Compensation for time and travel
  • Study related medications and medical care
  • Medical care supervised by one of our board certified physicians

Our research centers are located next to our Aventura and Kendall/Sunset clinical offices.

Both facilities

  • Perform Phase II, III and IV clinical trials;
  • Have all of the emergency equipment needed for adverse events;
  • are located in the proximity of a hospital (Baptist Hospital and Aventura Hospital);
  • Provide ample space for monitors to work with phone, fax and copy machines readily available;
  • Are conveniently located in densely populated areas with easy access to the main expressways and airports.
OUR PATIENTS

We have developed an extensive patient data base, national and international, due to our reputation and longevity in the community. Our patient population is composed of 40% pediatrics and 60% adults diverse in ethnicity, race, age.

OUR TEAM

The research team is comprised of three investigators, sub-investigator, study coordinators, support staff all well trained and highly qualified to handle the most complex and challenging clinical trials.

OUR SPONSORS

Some of the sponsors we have worked with include: GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Merck, Sanofi, Sepracor among others. We have also worked with all major CROs such as IQVIA, Covance, PPD, RPS, Parexel.

What is a clinical research study?

A clinical research study is a medical study tailored to answer questions about the safety and effectiveness of potential new medications. A clinical study helps to understand how a new medicine works on people.

Did you know that...

A good number of clinical trials are also conducted on medications already existing on the market in order to collect valuable information with regards to safety, optimal dosage and efficacy.

“Why should I or my child participate in a research study?”

First and foremost, all the drugs that we are currently benefiting from have been approved solely as a result of successful clinical trials.

Secondly, during a clinical trial the patient will acquire a wealth of knowledge with regards to their asthma. We will share a lot of our findings with you and help you better understand the proper management of asthma and avoid stressful and scary trips to the ER.

Dr. Jaime Landman has been with Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care since 1994. Dr. Landman is currently the president of the company. He works in the Aventura and North Miami Beach offices. Dr. Landman was born in Peru and went to medical school at the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, in Lima. He did his Internship & Residency in Pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital. He did his fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Landman is Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology.

Dr. Landman is Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology.

Dr. Rodicio was born in Cuba and went to medical school at the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Higher Education in Havana, Cuba. She did her Internship & Residency in Internal Medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She did her fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Weill Cornell University. Dr. Rodicio is Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology.
