Every year we at Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care prepare for back to school as if we were all going back to the classrooms ourselves.  Why, do you ask, since you are an allergy practice?

Because one of our Core Values is Benevolence towards our local community and neighbors is an essential part of our longstanding reputation.

Throughout the year we work hand in hand with institutions, organizations, non-profits, hospitals, community centers, churches, and schools to help bring awareness on allergy and asthma.

If you live in Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County you may know by now that FCAAC provides school supplies during the months of July and August. It is a pleasure seeing parents and children smile when they receive the supplies.

The happy surprise came last month when we received these pictures of children in Haiti with our coloring pencils.

Haiti.1 Haiti.2 Haiti.3 Haiti.4

Our efforts of supporting the community reached Haiti and delighted dozens of children thanks to Dr. Alphonse Dufreny and the mission for which he has dedicated extended hours and enthusiasm. We were delighted to see happy children and contribute to such an encompassing cause.

We have asked him a few questions.

What’s the name of the mission

AEDAP (Association of Exchange and Development of Activities and Partnership)

What’s the mission about?

The mission was born with the intention to empower women residing in the East region of Haiti by teaching them micro-enterprise techniques. In 2010 a Rural Project was initiated and to date 90 women have been receiving training. In support to the longstanding missionary activity, the association has provided medical assistance to a total of 500 people in the last 5 years in the form of medications, clothing and toys.

How many people does the team count on?

A mission director, two physicians, 2 nurses and 5 volunteers are the regular staff.

When was it established?

It was first incorporated in 2007.

Does it help children, adults or both?

All the people related to the selected peasant women have received assistance.

How does the association sustain itself?

With partnering with volunteers and supporters like Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care which with monetary donations and supplies help make the yearly goal.

We love when we leave an impact with what we do, as awareness is a daily job that harvests the most ripe fruits.
